A Source of Light in a Dim Year: I learned about Linda’s writing workshops at a time that was filled with confusion, frustration, fear, and isolation. Although I write for a living, I had neglected my creative writing muscles for years. Linda’s simple and easy writing process produced an unexpectedly powerful connection with my own creative voice. And, the supportive atmosphere created by Linda and my classmates made it a safe place to share, ‘not ready for primetime,’ work. What a gift! I look forward to the next chapter in our workshop series and to seeing where the spirits take us.

Linda’s six week summer class was one of the best things I did this summer. She helps one to find their voice through gentle prodding and support. She is truly a gifted writer and teacher. I have a voice and I have so many wonderful things to share. Thank you Linda.

Linda Kelly’s Write From Your Heart writing workshop is simply awesome!! Her thoughtfully crafted creative exercises (aka The Homework) have proven to be super effective at getting to the heart of the matter. And our weekly group Zoom meeting has quickly become a sanctuary of sorts for me; a living crucible to freely share my inner landscape with other writers. This would not be possible, nor as fulfilling, were it not for Linda’s ability to create a welcoming and safe environment. She is an intuitive, empathetic and active listener whose insightful feedback has proven incredibly helpful to me. Highly recommend!

I’ve known Linda for many lifetimes and have been Blessed to have her in this life once again. She is a beautiful gifted soul and one of the many gifts she possesses is creative writing. Recently, I had the pleasure of taking one of her creating writing classes and was so impressed by her approach, her ability to work with many different levels of writing, and her inspiration in helping all of us reach our goals. If you are thinking of taking a creative writing class, Linda is your girl. Not only is she a wonderful teacher but a loving, compassionate soul. Thank you Linda for all your guidance and support. I am back to writing on a daily basis and loving it.

It was winter in the middle of the Pandemic and I had just had foot surgery. It was an extremely isolating period of time. Much to my delight I found out through a friend that Linda would be teaching this class. There were four women, including Linda, in our Weekly Zoom Adventure. I found that it became the highlight of my week! It created an intimate and safe environment to tell my tales and also to listen to tales being told. I found several avenues of awareness open up inside of me pertaining to how I have viewed many of these life stories for so long. In general I have come away with an enhanced generosity of spirit and understanding of some of the most important people in my life. But the striking thing is the deep compassion I feel for myself as well as for all of the members of our writing group. A wonderful and revelatory experience.

“Write from the Heart” is not just a valuable exercise for writers of all experience levels; it is a path to the heart of one’s individual creativity; a discovery of self, and a honing of one’s craft as part of a deeply personal and profound journey.

It’s funny. I teach writing yet, before I tried Linda’s gentle Write From Your Heart practice, I believed I had absolutely nothing to say. Oh, I love stories– like many people, I’ve told them all my life–but Linda’s warm, wise, encouragement and small-group sharing has helped me to understand that the way I tell stories is what makes me a writer. With her help, I’ve uncovered some of the riches stored inside and, by following her process, I am finding my writer’s voice.

Linda’s facilitation during “Write From The Heart” was so very ON. She had a way with her beautiful approach to bring out the writer in me. The prompts were just the beginning as she took her own guts as a writer to help me with mine. Goading, questioning and bringing out facts to help with the eventual spinning of the tale I want to tell. I highly recommend this workshop. – Dianne Snyder /writer, actor, teacher
Write from Your Heart was a magical class for me. Linda Kelly’s spot on prompts led to really deep writing, and her clear, gentle and loving guidance made for a non-judgmental atmosphere where participants’ work could be heard and appreciated with love and support. The non-pressured vibe made for some great writing and sharing. The class was a very safe-haven to explore the deepest of work, and because of this, amazing writing happened! I personally found a few story ideas from the writing exercises and also a book idea! I highly recommend this class for any writer from beginner to established authors.

When I began Linda Kelly’s Write From Your Heart practice, I wasn’t sure what the outcome would be and looking back, I believe that was the best approach. Letting my agenda go and trusting the process helped me to reconnect with my enjoyment of writing. It didn’t take long for the timed writing sessions to become a daily practice, one that I looked forward to doing. The prompts Linda provided went to the very core of my beliefs, upbringing, and memories mining rich material previously untapped. Out of the countless writing workshops I’ve participated in, Writing From Your Heart went the deepest and gave me the most fertile stories from which to work. It does take courage to commit to and engage in a writing practice that urges us to go beyond the surface, but I believe that wherever you are in your journey this course will lead you to places that surprise and inspire you.
– Rebecca Watkins /writer, teacher, poet and author of Sometimes in These Places
This is a wonderful writing workshop to get those creative juices flowing in a disciplined and inspiring format. Using the weekly prompts as we mined our memories to discover, or recover, stories from our past, has been insightful, fun, and deeply fulfilling. Linda’s clear, genuine, and gentle shepherding of us through the process, over the weeks, was invaluable in keeping me going, when the going got tough. Or life got in the way. She provided thoughtful, positive, constructive comments and was often able to see something deeper than what I thought I was saying. She was the perfect cheerleader and I got to know some incredible women as we traveled the journey together. She, and the course, were wonderful! ***** (that’s 5 stars)!
